Weather & Safety: A Quick PSA
The rains brought by Hurricane Marie and the seasonal monsoon caused flooding, fast-moving arroyos and trouble on roads across parts of BCS this week. Beaches were also closed or restricted in La Paz and Los Cabos because of dangerous surf and runoff. If you’re heading out, take it easy on the roads, never try to cross a flowing arroyo, and give the ocean some extra respect for the next few days. Protección Civil BCS is a good place to keep an eye on local safety updates.
Low Season Support
September is quiet in Todos Santos and Pescadero, but the bills do not take a break. If you are around town this week, consider spending your coffee, grocery and dinner dollars at the spots choosing to stay open and keep their crews working. A little neighborly business goes a long way right now.
Holiday Reminder: Fiestas Patrias
Next week is Mexican Independence Day, which means a shift in the usual schedule. Tuesday night (September 15) is El Grito, so expect celebrations, music and fireworks in the public plazas. Wednesday, September 16 is the federal holiday, and banks and government offices will be closed. Some local businesses may also close or run on a different schedule, so plan your errands and cash withdrawals accordingly.
