The Dusty Burro is a weekly dispatch covering life along the dirt roads of the Todos Santos, Pescadero, and Cerritos corridor.
I started this because it is surprisingly hard to find reliable information out here. Social media groups are noisy, algorithms hide the good stuff, and the best plumber in town probably doesn't have a website. I wanted a simple, quiet place to find what I actually need.
Here is the basic idea: neighbors post things to the board during the week, and every Thursday morning I pull together the most useful and relevant submissions into a single readable email. Think of it less like a publication and more like a community noticeboard that happens to arrive in your inbox every Thursday morning.
Most community notices are completely free. Small paid placements help cover the costs of running the board and keep the Thursday dispatch alive.
Whether you are selling a used surfboard, looking for a reliable electrician, or trying to fill seats at your upcoming workshop, this is where you tell the neighborhood.

I am a documentary filmmaker who splits time between Vancouver and Todos Santos. I run Scrapbook Films, but I have spent enough time on the local roads to know how hard it is to find a reliable mechanic, a decent used truck, or what is happening at the tianguis this weekend. The Dusty Burro is my attempt to make that easier for all of us.

How the Board Works
How do the Free Listings work?
If you are posting community notices, selling a used surfboard, announcing a local event, looking for a bit of work, or organizing a beach cleanup, your listing costs nothing. Just fill out the form. I will read it over and put it on the board within 24 hours.
How do the Local Business Spots work?
If you are a tradesperson, a café, a restaurant, a surf school, or any local business serving the corridor, this spot is for you. For a small flat fee your listing sits prominently on the board for four full weeks and is guaranteed a place in the Thursday dispatch. A month in front of your neighbors without reposting every week.
What is a Dispatch Sponsor?
This is the premium spot for one business per issue. The Dispatch Sponsor gets prime placement at the top of the Thursday email, introduced as Today’s Issue Brought to You By. Since I only feature one sponsor per week, write to me and we can talk timing and fit.
How do I get my listing into the newsletter?
When you post on the website it is automatically in the running for Thursday’s dispatch. Local Business Spots are guaranteed a place. Free community listings are selected based on space and what feels relevant that week.
