Sunday was a tough result for Mexico against England, but it was a great run. And with the US getting knocked out shortly after, all three host nations are now officially out of the tournament. Still, there are plenty of great games to come.
On the bright side, the mangos are starting to drop. We’re about to have more fruit than we know what to do with. The local mango festival is coming up later this month, so it is officially that time of year.

A Mission for the Burros. If you have picked up a bag of organic fertilizer from Randall in Pescadero recently, you are doing a lot more than just feeding your garden. You are actively funding the Burro Relief Mission. Randall started the project after crossing paths with a neglected burro named Conchita, trading a set of truck rims to get her to safety. Since then, the herd has grown to four, with two of the burros rescued just days before being sent to slaughter. The entire rescue is supported by locals buying bags of Conchita’s fertilizer to cover the cost of feed. It is a quiet, purpose-driven project that looks out for the very animals that give this newsletter its name. If your plants need a boost, buying a bag from Randall is a great way to support the herd.
