The kickoff is officially here. Mexico opens the tournament against South Africa at the Azteca today at 12:00 PM our time, and the corridor is ready for it.
Thanks to everyone who weighed in last week. I pulled together the master list of where folks are heading to catch the games, and you will find it a bit further down.

Where to Watch the World Cup
The energy around town is already shifting. With the 2026 FIFA World Cup officially kicking off right here in Mexico, you can feel the anticipation building from the dirt roads of Pescadero down to the breaks at Cerritos. Whether you are rooting for El Tri, cheering on your home country, or just looking for a cold beer and an excuse to celebrate with the community, we have you covered.
First off, a huge thank you to everyone who chimed in on our quick poll about where to watch the games. We combined your community input with some direct outreach to local bar and restaurant owners to find out exactly who is firing up the screens. Here is your Dusty Burro guide to where you can catch the action, grab a bite, and share a few cheers this month:
Cerritos Beach
Surfside Bar & Grill
- The Games: They will be showing all of the World Cup matches.
- The Perks: Happy hour runs daily from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM. You can also grab a 700 pesos day pass to hang out at the pool, and that entire amount goes directly toward your food and drink tab.
- Good to Know: Just a heads up, they are closed on Tuesdays.
- Find Them: Located right on the beach. Follow @surfside.bar.and.grill on Instagram for daily updates and reservations.
Barracuda Cantina
- The Games: They are planning to show almost all of the matches.
- The Vibe: A perfect, casual spot to grab a drink and some fantastic food right by the beach while you watch.
- Find Them: Just off the main beach path. Follow @barracudacantina on Instagram for daily specials.
Shaka’s Delicious Wood Cantina
- The Games: Catch all the action starting June 11th.
- The Perks: They are opening early at 9:00 AM with a full breakfast menu and happy hour drink prices to kick off the morning games.

Big Fun Beach Club
- The Games: They are focusing on the biggest matches, especially the opening game and Mexico’s debut.
- The Perks: For the opening match, they are running a 3 for 2 pizza special from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Stick around after the game because the celebration rolls right into a Ladies Night with 2 for 1 drinks and a set by DJ Highpockets.

Todos Santos
Bajavaria
- The Games: Confirmed to be showing the tournament matches live.
- The Locations: You can catch the action at either of their two spots around town, their El Centro location on C. Benito Juárez or up in Las Tunas at Plaza Victoria.

Cafelix
- The Games: Showing all the matches on three TVs, with a fourth screen available on the back patio if needed.
- Special Hours: They are hosting an opening party this Thursday, June 11th, at 10:00 AM. They will also be opening on Tuesdays exclusively for premium matches (like France at Noon and Argentina at 6:00 PM).

Todos Santos Brewing
- The Games: Showing every game live on multiple big screens in the Taproom and Beer Garden.
- Opening Match Special: Opening early at 10:30 AM this Thursday to catch the opening ceremony.

El Pescadero
Lucky 23 Restaurant
- The Games: They confirmed they will be tuning in and showing the matches.

Respect the South Swells. The summer south swells are rolling in, which means the local beaches are moving a lot more water right now. If the ocean looks totally flat when you first pull up, give it ten minutes. Waves travel in sets, and those quiet windows are often just a lull before heavier water pushes through. It is a good time of year to grab a seat and read the water before wading out, and to give visiting friends a quick heads-up about the changing conditions.
